Senior Team Cavan

Liam joined the ifac team in 1991 and is a Partner in our Cavan branch. Liam is FCCA qualified. Outside of work Liam is a suckler farmer and GAA coach.

Edel joined ifac in 2005, as part of the Area Development team. Originally from Cavan, Edel holds a B.Agr. Sc degree from UCD. She has gained huge experience in past roles with Monaghan Mushrooms, starting as an advisor, and progressing to Quality Assurance Manager Ireland for the group. From there, Edel moved to Volac Feeds, as Business Manager within the North East. Edel works closely in co-ordinating the book keeping function of ifac for Ulster, Connaught and part of Leinster. She has held various titles within ifac, all working within the book keeping sector. Good communication skills and a belief in the people she works with have helped to maintain an effective and efficient service for the area since her start with ifac. Edel comes from a mixed farm, which has specialised in poultry production for nearly 35 years and is still going strong. Edel is proud of her Breffni Blue roots and is actively involved in the local community as part of Crosserlough GAA, past secretary of Cavan Camogie Board and serves on the Board of Management of her past National school. Since retiring her camogie boots, she has become an avid swimmer, and has competed in triathlons.

Sean is an Accounting and Finance graduate from DCU, and is from a sheep and suckler farm in Corlough Co.Cavan. Having spent three years in college in Dublin, Sean decided he wanted to return home to work having grown tired of the city life. Of his experience in ifac Sean has said: “Ifac was the ideal fit for me as it is local but also one of the top accounting firms in Ireland. Dealing with agricultural clients was also something I was very interested in being from a farming background. My role in the Cavan office as a trainee has varied since I started. I have worked under the guidance of my mentor but as I have gained experience I have also started to work with clients myself, doing their accounts and dealing with queries. My experience as a trainee has been extremely positive so far. The comprehensive four week graduate training at the start was very beneficial in learning how to use the recording systems of the company. I have worked on a multitude of different clients from sole traders to partnerships and companies, getting an insight into all the different types of accounts. Ifac is a great place to work and do your exams as you are seeing the practical side of all the subjects you are studying and you are supported throughout. I find working for Ifac has allowed me achieve a good work life balance as whilst working and studying I still have time to follow up my interests outside of work. Along with farming I also play football for the local GAA club.”
