Ifac are hosting a farming seminar in conjunction with Bank of Ireland in the Park Hotel, Dungarvan on Wednesday 21st November, at 7:30pm.

The theme of the seminar is ‘Farming Through an Agri Evolution’ and will be chaired by Kieran O’Connor, presenter of ‘Farm View’ on WLR FM.

Speakers include Eoghan Drea, Partner at the ifac Waterford office, who will discuss new PAYE modernisations and Farm structures and John Fitzgerald, Agri Manager at Bank of Ireland who will look at how Ireland’s leading agri lender wants to fund sustainable agriculture.

There will also be a panel discussion with Páidí Kelly from Teagasc, Gillian O’Sullivan, Zurich Farmer of the Year and Nollaig Heffernan from Heffernan Consultancy who will discuss how farmers can effectively source and& manage labour.

Weather has always been a topical subject amongst farmers especially with the extreme weather conditions experienced this year which makes the subject even more relevant. Bearing this in mind Evelyn Cusack from Met Éireann will discuss future weather patterns and implications of this on the farming community.

Speaking about the event, Eoghan Drea said, “At ifac, we have been providing financial advice to farming families for over 40 years. We know exactly how difficult 2018 has been for them because we are working with farmers every day, providing sound advice and guiding financial decision making. The purpose of this seminar is to look at issues facing farmers over the coming months and offer solutions or help where possible. The topics discussed will be diverse and relevant and we’re looking forward to the evening.”

In advance of the seminar, John Fitzgerald, Agri Manger with Bank of Ireland said “We are delighted to partner with ifac for this really interesting seminar. The Agri sector is evolving on a continuous basis and this event will provide our customers with the information needed to keep pace with the changes that are happening”.
