To celebrate International Womens Day 2019 ifac have launched a photo competition to highlight the hardworking women on farms and working in food and agri businesses around Ireland.

Agriculture is the sector with the highest gender imbalance in Ireland. Although historically a male profession, this is ever-changing with the number of women owning farms and working in the farming, food and agri sectors on the rise. The latest figures show women owning 11.6% of farm land in Ireland, a small number that is growing year on year.

This year, International Womens Day has chosen the theme of “Balance for Better”. to celebrate this ifac are encouraging women in the farming, food and agribusiness sectors across Ireland to share their photos with us on Facebook (@ifacadvice) and Twitter (@ifac_advice) to highlight the incredible work they do in these sectors each and every day.

The winner of this competition will win a luxury hotel stay for two in Ireland.

Competition closing extended to March 6th - so act now to enter before it’s too late!
