Despite increasing regulatory pressure and cost challenges, Irish farmers remain resilient and cautiously optimistic about the future, according to the ifac Irish Farm Report 2026.

Based on the views of over 1,000 farmers nationwide, the report highlights rising confidence alongside significant risks around bureaucracy, succession, and financial planning.

Confidence among farmers is improving, with 61% reporting a positive outlook, up on previous years. However, the report makes clear that red tape and financial blind spots now pose the greatest threat to long-term farm sustainability.
